In Case You Thought Hillary Would Be Indicted for Emails, Think Again – White House Says No Way

Washington, D.C. — On Friday, the State Department announced it is withholding 22 emails from Hillary Clinton’s private email dump because they contain information marked “top secret.”
News of this scandal quickly spread as bipartisan calls for her indictment came out of every political corner. In spite of this confirmation of a crime from the White House, Clinton’s campaign immediately objected, putting out a statement demanding that the emails be released.
When you know that the emails won’t be released, a demand for them to be released comes particularly easy.
While it certainly would be an amazing spectacle to see such a high-level political war criminal face justice, the likelihood of such a scenario is all but non-existent — and the White House has no problem admitting it.
Hilary is not some rogue state actor operating unilaterally of the system. All of her criminal actions have had the blessing of her peers and higher-ups — which is why none of them will call her out — for fear of justice themselves.
To prove this notion, one need only watch the White House press conference that followed the release of the emails.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest all but ended and thought of justice for Hillary during the conference on Friday when he was asked if he could “say with certainty and confidence that Secretary Clinton will not be indicted because of this email scandal.”

Cooking Class Update

In the class description,I stated that a friend was going to assist me with a portion of the class.
The gentleman is now going to be present, and taking an active role in teaching the entire class, and will be doing the same for class II and class III.
We’ve both taught classes in the past, and have similar experience and knowledge.
Gary is far more knowledgeable than I am as far as baking goes,as he went on to become a pastry chef, and spent years creating desserts for area hotels, country clubs and restaurants.
He will be the instructor for all things baking-breads,cakes,biscquits, muffins,pies,tarts,tortes-and whatever else Gary comes up with. I’ll leave that part of the class up to him.
Those taking the class will still be making the actual desserts for lunch and dinner,as well as all the food for lunch and dinner.
Having two different guys explaining the basics that are required knowledge, and that all cooking is based on, does make quite a bit of difference in how much students retain from the class,as no two people teach the exact same way.

LaVoy Finicum Video – Enhanced and Zoomed

From Sam Culper:
I saw this new, enhanced video and it absolutely does appear that LaVoy was shot while gaining balance in the snow, trying to keep his hands in the air. And then shot again while holding his side, probably the wound. Make up your own mind.

An idea for Mr Finicum’s family by Wirecutter

Mr LaVoy Finicum, recently executed for the crimes of trespassing and squatting, is a published author as many of you know. His book is called 'Only by Blood and Suffering' and is available on Kindle for $6.99. I will provide a link at the bottom.
I don't know of a website or fund yet to help his survivors but when I do I'll publish it. If one of you know of one already set up and running, please let me know in the comments.
But what we can do in the meantime is to buy a copy of the man's book. He's still getting paid whether he's dead or alive. I don't know if the federales have seized or put a hold on his family's accounts, but if they have, they gotta release them sometime.
You'll see at the link that the book's available for free on Amazon Prime, but that doesn't give the family any relief. Pay the 7 bucks.
Not only will buying the book put money into his family's coffers, it will help to keep his name and memory alive. I believe it was the Greeks who said that a man is immortal as long as his name is remembered.
Please spread this on your FB pages, blogs and other social media. No need to credit or link to me, let's just get a few books sold. Feel free to copy and paste.

Racism & the Oscars: It is not the Academy, it is the Northeast

The Oscar Boycott is a pathetic joke.  It is one of those laughable moments in Leftwing time in which one of the Left’s most loyal constituencies, in this case Black Hollywood, is throwing its guilt right back at that other loyal Leftist constituency, White Hollywood.  How beautiful can this get – especially in 2016?!  Hollywood Leftists fighting… Hollywood Leftists.
Of course, this is the best part of it all:  the Oscar Boycott is supposedly a manifestation of Black films or actors not getting the attention they deserve.  In this regard, I agree with the Black protestors.  However, while they point their fingers at old people voting on films and performances, they are missing the true culprit: Northeast racism.
Racism is indeed playing a role in the denial of Black actors, actresses, and films from the Oscars.  But it is not for the reasons that Black thespians think.  It all boils down to the money.  Follow the dollars from Hollywood to the money guys in New York City and you will find the roots of elitist racism at its finest.
The reason that Black actors and movie executives do not get Oscar nominations is simple:  they make crappy movies.
They do not deserve Oscar nominations.
But the issue is not the storylines often posited.  Rather, it is the availability of money made available to Black projects from New York based financiers.  Why?  Because New York financiers do not trust Black projects and therefore do not fund them.
Let’s go down this rabbit hole together.
Black people are preoccupied with race.  It is everywhere.  From charges of “White Privilege” to mythical exaggerations of Southern racism, many Blacks (not all) see Whites as a perpetually oppressive class.  That is too bad.  Most White people could care less about Black people.  That is not to say they hate them or dislike them, they just do not think about Black people.  Even the hardest White separatists will likely hold open a door for a Black person while walking out of a store or carry an elderly Black woman’s groceries out of sheer respect for her age.  Most separatists just want to be left alone.  Most non-separatist Whites just want to pay their bills.
Otherwise, contrary to legendary belief, White people do not sit around their Thanksgiving dinner tables wondering how best to oppress Black people in the upcoming year.  At least, not all of them.
First, it is important to understand what the Academy “is” and who are its electors.  It is a collection of highly respected professionals from various entertainment skill sets.  The vast majority are absolutely wedded to Leftist ideals.  They are probably so hyper-sensitive to the issue of race that they search high and low for quality politically correct candidates.  There is a long list of bad movies that have won Oscars against better competitors.
Academy members are also old, predominantly White people.
When you get into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, you are at a level in your career where you have achieved some form of recognition.  As such, the voters are naturally older.  This is a function of professional time.  Most Black films, whether they are action, comedy, romance, or drama, tend to have an urban edge to them.  Thus, just like hip hop is to older music lovers, older Academy voters are just not into the genres or storylines.  This is especially true of storylines that do not connect with them.
In this regard, it is much like asking my mother to critique Snoop Dogg.  She may find some of his stuff entertaining in a funny way, but she will not recognize any of the lyrics or style as something to weigh critically.  The same goes for movies.  Until the Academy goes through an additional generational shift from the White hippy dominated Baby Boomers to the Generation Xers that were brought up with Black themes in the mainstream, this will not change.
But there is more.
Black films that have resonated with the Academy have been historical pieces.  Twelve Years a Slave and Driving Miss Daisy are Black films that covered historically significant periods of time and won Best Picture.  Multiple Black actors have won Oscars for Best Actor despite relatively few high quality options.  Sidney Poitier won the Oscar for Best Actor before he could sit at the same lunch counter as his Director in half of the country.  Other films, like The Green Mile and The Blind Side, while not specifically Black films, tackled incredibly sensitive issues of race and were nominated for Best Picture.  Consequently, it is really hard to throw the Academy’s political correct bona fides into question.
There may be, however, some truth to the charge of racism.
I have a different theory:  what if most Black movies with serious content just plain sucked because they were deprived of cash?
Black activists have been so focused on Government institutions and the South that they have ignored the most racist demographic in the United States: White Leftwingers in the Northeast.  The difference is the constructs of their racism and the means to affect their racist agenda.  Money and fake smiles hide the truth.  The Northeast is racist.
Forget the Confederate Battle Flag!  It is not the symbol Black voters or racist entities think it means.  The NRA is not the enemy of Black actors, either; the NAR is.  I mean the National Association of Realtors, especially those realtor associations in the Northeast that ensure Black people stay in Black neighborhoods and wealthy White neighborhoods stay White in places like Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.

Female Bow Hunter Receives Death Threats

Why Was this Bow Hunter Threatened for Teaching Kids How to Hunt?

The anti-hunting crowd has once again proven that they are far more violent than the hunters they seem to hate so much.
Jen “The Archer” Cordaro, a prominent, female bow hunter from California revealed in a recent interview that she has received death threats after teaching children how to hunt.
“The initial reaction to the ‘Bring a Kid’ campaign actually was all positive,” said Cordaro on The Palin Update with Kevin Scholla. “I have more letters from kids than I can keep up with.”
However, it wasn’t long before the anti-hunting crowd found out about the campaign and the usual violent, hate filled threats followed shortly thereafter.

“People want to murder my first born child,” Cordaro said. “I don’t have any kids, but that’s pretty scary to think about.”
“What I really haven’t talked to the media about at all is the things that are happening at my home and my place of employment,” said Cordaro. “So the death threats and the harassment and vandalism has gone beyond social media at this point. I’m dealing with it every day in my mailbox, at my house, on my car, at my work. Because they’re very close to home the proper authorities are involved at this point … I’m not stopping. There’s no reason for me to stop. If I stop they win.”

One of the things that people often do not consider important is feeding your tribe, group, clan, team ,etc. as a group.
Cooking for large groups of people is not like having a backyard BBQ,or a holiday meal at your aunt Millie’s house.
There’s procedures you have to follow-just like anything else, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things.
Do things the wrong way,and everyone you just fed will be grabbing the TP and running to the nearest toilet-or to the woods for the next 24-48hours.

Facebook the Ignorant Tyrant

Facebook has decided to start censoring "hate speech." I cannot think of an issue that so well illustrates the value of the Constitution.

Now, to be honest, Facebook is a commercial enterprise and has every right to censor it's content. Just as its subscribers have every right to find some other social media outlet that has a better grasp of the necessity of the public discourse, which, by nature, must be free from restriction.

But, what Facebook has decided is that it wants to control the debate, allowing one side to freely express itself and restricting the other side. It has chosen to be a megaphone rather than a telephone. It wants to allow others to speak to us, but will not allow us to speak to them. To me, that is a really poor business model, but that is what they have chosen to do. It is a poor business model, because if they were intellectually honest, they would wind up disposing of nearly all of their accounts save for the Mother Teresas of the world.
This is exactly the sort of behavior exhibited by those who must not be trusted with leadership. They are incapable of responsible use of power. To them, if they can silence those with whom they disagree, they will. That is not the act of someone who understands America.

The Constitution protects free speech. Now, there was a reason that speech was protected, but those in control of Facebook have never read the Federalist Papers or even the Anti-Federalist Papers. They have never read Miracle in Philadelphia, or they would understand the arguments behind an amendment that protected free speech. Trust me, there were no political figures of the time that did not suffer greatly from pamphlets written by their political enemies, but even in the heat of those political battles, none suggested that the First Amendment be abolished, because they were educated men, not Facebook petty tyrants.

It seems like ever since Barack Obama made hating America popular, every little tyrant with the slightest amount of power has exercised it against freedom. Facebook is just the latest example, following the IRS targeting of conservative organizations, PayPal's suspension of accounts (usually those of a conservative nature, like mine) and etc.

This is a narrowing of the discourse, that's all. This is how genocides are started: identify, target, restrict, censor, imprison and slaughter. The first act of a tyrant is to vilify a particular race or political sect. Can you tell the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite? They can and they were willing to kill each other over what small differences there are.

Tell the Truth About 'Gun Violence' Numbers

One would get the impression listening to gun control advocates or, indeed, to President Obama and those Democrats vying to succeed him that the United States is in the midst of an epidemic of violence; awash in blood with murderers and mass killers roaming the streets carrying guns they've bought at gun shows, over the Internet or from crazed neighbors. In fact, many Americans share this view. A recent Pew poll asked respondents if they believe the U.S. homicide rate has gone up or down over the last twenty years. Fifty-six percent of those polled said it has gone up and only twelve percent believed we are safer today than two decades ago.
The perception here and abroad has little to do with reality and a lot to do with political grandstanding. In fact, over the last twenty years or so the U.S. homicide rate has not just receded, but has been cut in half. The United States does indeed have a higher homicide rate than some industrialized nations in Europe and Japan, but is very, very different in size and complexity to those nations usually cited by those who wish to blame guns for the differences.

Here is one simple fact for those who blame firearms ownership and availability in this country for the murder and violent crime rate that plagues some of our major cities: while crime and violence were being cut in half, gun ownership was doubling.
It is too simple to claim that there is less violence in the United States today because more of our citizens are armed, but it is clear that there is no correlation between the number of guns in private hands with either the murder or violent crime rates as claimed by most gun control advocates.
The president likes to talk about ‘gun violence’ which is something that includes firearms accidents, suicides and those killed with guns. There are statistically very few firearms accidents in this country thanks to safety training and common sense. Two-thirds of all gun deaths are suicides and while some claim that making it more difficult for potential suicides to get guns would decrease the total number of suicides, international data suggest otherwise. That leaves two additional categories although former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's groups lump those killed by police and even the death of the Boston Marathon Bomber as a firearms homicide. They are criminal gun violence and so-called mass shootings.
Criminals using firearms are the biggest problem, but it is a problem we as a society know how to handle. If a thug walks into a convenience store with a gun and robs it, he has committed both a state and federal crime. Robbery is a state crime, but committing a felony with a firearm is a federal crime and prosecutable as such with a five year minimum sentence. A felon in possession of a gun is also prosecutable and can get five to ten years for having one in his possession.

Back in the nineties, the NRA partnered with law enforcement officials and prosecutors in Richmond, Virginia, which was at that time listed as America's murder capital. The message was simple. Use a gun to commit a crime and you will get five years in a federal penitentiary with no possibility of a plea bargain. The murder rate dropped 32 percent the first year and another 20 percent the next, but the U.S. attorney who participated in what came to be known as “Project Exile” was criticized by Eric Holder, then Deputy Attorney General, for wasting prosecutorial resources.
Today felons or criminals using firearms are rarely prosecuted by the federal government. In fact, today's U.S. murder capital is Chicago, the jurisdiction with the lowest rate of such prosecutions. Before President Obama issued his recent series of “Executive Orders” on gun violence, it was suggested that they would include instructions to U.S. prosecutors to begin charging gun criminals under existing law. That idea was dropped in favor of actions that don't target criminals, but will make it harder for non-criminals to buy firearms.
The final category involves mass shootings such as the killing at the Sandy Hook Elementary School and the Washington Navy Yard. These tragedies rarely if ever involve criminals. They are invariably perpetrated by the severely and dangerously mentally ill. This category of violence is the most difficult to deter or prevent, but beefed up school security, getting the states to put the most potentially dangerous into the background check system and rebuilding the U.S. mental health system are the keys to dealing with them.
The American people are lucky in that the nation's founders wrote the age old right of self defense into our Bill of Rights. Many nations don't recognize such a right, but Americans do. It is estimated, in fact, that as many as 200,000 crimes are deterred in a typical year by armed potential victims. It's why in every jurisdiction that has legalized what we call ‘concealed carry’ has seen a drop in violent crime. Burglars don't break into a house with a Rottweiler in the yard and are reluctant to use violence against a man or woman who just might be able to fight back.

What’s Really Going on With the BLM in the West

The single most important thing you need to understand about the BLM,EPA,USFS,and USFWS is the reason they are pushing ranchers, loggers, farmers, and individuals off of land that’s often been in the families for generations.
The whole clusterfuck is the fault of the environmental-emphasis on the mental-movement,and the endless stream of lawsuits filed against the USFWS,BLM,USFS,and the EPA.
These lawsuits not only cost hundreds of millions,if not billions of taxpayer dollars-the lawyers from groups like the Center for Biological Diversity-many,many more lawyers than biologists-earn a living from these lawsuits.
Groups like The Center for Biological Diversity,Wild Earth Guardians ,Natural Resources Defense Council to name a few of the major serial lawsuit filers, sue and then settle for whichever agency they sued setting aside even more land that is restricted from most or all human activity.
Most of these groups file their suits by abusing the endangered species act-which by the way must go-it’s time to get rid of it to stop this abuse.
Think back to the northern spotted owl,and the 70’s eco-freaks spiking trees, maiming loggers for life, chaining themselves to trees and/or equipment.
They got almost all logging stopped on USFS lands throughout the intermountain west, and the Pacific NW by abusing the ESA.
After all the drama and bullshit-logging was NEVER a danger to the northern spotted owl-a larger, more aggressive species of owl had displaced the spotted owl.
No apologies to the loggers out of a job-or maimed for life when their chainsaws hit a spike in a tree-there was no anti-kickback feature on chainsaws,or cut proof chaps, helmets with face shields back then-if the saw kicked back and hit your arm,leg,head,face,wherever-you got seriously effed up.
None of the people or groups involved ever admitted they were wrong either.
One of the worst abusers of the ESA,and most prolific filers of lawsuits is The Center for Biological Diversity.
They’re who got all the Nevada land around the Bundy ranch closed to grazing to protect the “endangered” desert tortoise-the same tortoise that the USFWS was euthanizing at a tortoise “sanctuary”in the same part of Nevada.
The very same Center for Biological Diversity that sued the EPA in an attempt to ban ALL lead ammo-using junk science, and made up bullshit.
The very same Center for Biological Diversity that passes out condoms with picture of “endangered species”-because they hate humans.
The very same Center for Biological Diversity that got farmers banned from drawing irrigation water from the San Joaquin/Sacremento river delta due to the presence of a 3″ fish-the delta smelt
The very same Center for Biological Diversity that sued for continued ESA protection for the gray wolf-long after the wolf reintroduction fiasco had reached the goal of 300 wolves,or 30 breeding pairs, which caused a decade long legal battle, and took an act of congress to get the gray wolf removed from  ESA protection. Immediately after that loss, the CBD filed for ESA protection for gray wolves in the great lakes area, and the Mexican gray wolf in NM and AZ.
The wolf lawsuits…all 10 pages worth.
There’s another 3″ fish, the Santa Ana sucker, that the CBD filed and won lawsuits over granting ESA protections, and preventing nearly a million people from drawing residential drinking water from an existing reservoir.
The very same Center for Biological Diversity who’s metrosexual members showed up in Burns Oregon, and at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge
Is everyone starting to get the picture? CBD et-al file a blizzard of lawsuits in fed court-mostly in the 9th circus, against USFWS,USFS,EPA,BLM.
USFWS delcares whatever toad, frog, lizard, tortoise, mouse, rat, snake, bird,or fish is the “endangered species” of the day, week, month, year,or decade must have ESA protections and closes off millions of acres of “public” land to everyone except for the enviro-nazis and the few humans who  only want to go hiking and take pictures  are allowed-along with biologists “studying” the supposedly endangered species-so they can file yet another lawsuit falsely claiming the need for continued ESA protection-like they did with the gray wolf in the northern Rockies-as the wolf population swelled to 10 times the goal for removal from ESA protection.
This scam is played out over and over and over-and each time, more “public” land is closed to the public, and more families lose their land, more loggers, ranchers and farmers lose their jobs.
The Center for Biological Diversity is only one of more than two dozen such groups comprised of enviro and/or animal “rights” whackos who continuously file lawsuits in fed.court.
This shit has been going on for over 35 years now-since the first “earth day” in 1970-close to 4 decades of environmental and animal “rights” whackos dictating public lands policies via lawsuits abusing the Endangered Species Act.
This is why sawmills closed, loggers are unemployed, ranchers and farmers and anyone else in the way of the feds settling of enviro-nazi lawsuits is being pushed off of their land.
Those who refuse to sell are treated like the Hammonds were/are being treated.

FBI official: 'Perfect storm' imperiling gun background checks

 Via USA Today here

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The surge of criminal background checks required of new gun purchasers has been so unrelenting in recent months that the FBI had been forced to temporarily halt the processing of thousands of appeals from prospective buyers whose firearm purchase attempts have been denied.
Since October, the bureau’s entire cadre of appeal examiners— about 70 analysts — was redeployed here to help keep pace with waves of incoming background investigations that continued through December when a record 3.3 million firearm sales were processed.
The transfer of examiners, which had left a backlog of 7,100 appeals, is only part of a makeshift reorganization that FBI Assistant Director Stephen Morris said has become necessary to handle a burgeoning workload that expands in the wake of every mass shooting and call for increased gun control that invariably prompt firearms sales binges across the country.
“The last several months, we've kind of found ourselves in a perfect storm,’’ Morris said in an interview with USA TODAY. In each of the last six months, the number of background checks has risen steadily, according to FBI records, ending with December's record with more than a half-million over the previous monthly high posted in the aftermath of the 2012 Newtown, Conn., school massacre.
Since before Thanksgiving weekend, all annual leave for the more than 400 employees of the bureau’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System has been canceled. That Black Friday, the system was swamped with 185,345 background check requests on new firearm sales, a new single-day record.  Morris said temporary background check examiners also are being pulled from internal construction projects and bureau divisions that oversee the gathering of crime statistics across the nation.
The near-constant frenzy of activity within the FBI’s sprawling complex, four hours away from the nation’s capital, may represent the most compelling argument in favor of at least part of President Obama’s recent executive actions aimed at reducing gun violence: the addition of 230 examiners to the NICS operation and 200 more agents for nation's chief gun enforcement agency, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms.
The new positions are desperately needed, authorities said, to support the seriously stressed NICS system and to prepare for an even heavier workload as a consequence of the central provision of the administration's executive actions. That directive would require an increasing number of private firearms dealers to be licensed, subjecting their customers to scrutiny under the federal background check system.
Some of the administration's most vocal opponents on gun policy, including those who offered initial skepticism or outright opposition when the executive actions were unveiled earlier this month, now appear open to potentially adding the hundreds of requested positions that would require congressional approval.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, acknowledged in a written statement to USA TODAY that more NICS examiners “might be necessary.’’
Even the National Rifle Association, which assailed the administration's overall gun plan as "political exploitation,'' said that they would "have no objection'' to proposals that would both bolster the ranks of the ATF and the NICS system.
The group, however, remained critical of the plan's call for private gun sellers to obtain federal licenses so that buyers would go through background checks.
"If the addition of these agents are used to apprehend criminals — not to harass law-abiding gun owners — and (the examiners are used) to improve the broken NICS system, we would have no objection,'' NRA spokeswoman Jennifer Baker told USA TODAY.

'Delay queue is growing'

Burrowed in the rolling hills of the West Virginia countryside, the idyllic setting for the NICS operation masks the fraught, politically charged debate that has engulfed national gun policy.
The NICS system, mandated by Congress as part of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, has for nearly 20 years been a centerpiece of the government's effort to block criminals from obtaining firearms. Yet the operation has largely struggled to keep pace with a steadily increasing number of firearm transfers, while maintaining databases of criminal and mental health records that rely solely on voluntary contributions from state and local authorities. Those records are crucial to determining whether prospective gun buyers are eligible to purchase firearms.
"We live off those records,'' Morris said. "That is our bread and butter. ...The misnomer is that FBI has everything that exists on criminal history records in some big repository, and that's simply not true. A lot of data sits out in state and local systems. Being able to reach out and get that information can be very, very challenging.''
Morris said it is impossible to estimate how many records could be missing from the system.
"You don't know what you don't know, right?''
Earlier this month, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, in letters to the nation's governors as part of the administration's executive actions, urged states to provide additional information, saying the existing NICS databases were "far from complete.'' The letters also contained subtle warnings that the FBI intended to publish each state's contribution in the coming months.
"The NICS is a critical tool in keeping firearms out of the hands of prohibited persons,'' Lynch wrote, "but it is only as effective as the information entered into the databases upon which it relies.''
While slightly more than 70% of firearms transactions are allowed to proceed within minutes after buyers appear at the counters of licensed dealers, according to the FBI, the records are especially key to quickly reconciling the remaining transfers that require deeper reviews of state and local data before decisions can be issued on whether guns can be sold.
Depending on the volume of gun sales, at any one time the queue of pending cases — which by law must be resolved within three business days — generally ranges in the several thousand. Recently, those numbers have ballooned as high as 13,000. If the cases, some of which depend on local law enforcement agencies finding paper records to satisfy an examiner's search, cannot be resolved within the three-day period, gun dealers are generally free to complete the sales.
"Some (cases) aren't being looked at until the third day,'' Morris said, referring to the increasing volume and limited staffing.
"That delay queue has grown ... that meter is running.''
Morris said that he would like to limit examiners' caseloads to two reviews per hour to ensure accuracy. But that number has nearly doubled to nearly four cases per hour.

Roof serves as cautionary tale

The enormous stakes are not always apparent, until the first reports of a new mass shooting echo across social media or cable television.
No one recent case underscores the sobering nature of the work here more, officials said, more than an April transaction in South Carolina, reviewed by a veteran examiner at the West Virginia facility.
In that case, which could not be resolved within the three-day period, Dylann Roof was mistakenly allowed to walk away with the .45-caliber handgun allegedly used two months later to kill nine people during an evening Bible study session at the iconic Emanuel AME Church in downtown Charleston.
During the background check, Roof's March arrest on felony drug charges was mistakenly attributed to the Lexington County, S.C., Sheriff's Department, not the Columbia, S.C., Police Department, which actually made the arrest. The sheriff's department operates the jail where Roof had been detained.
The Columbia police report included information that Roof admitted to drug possession, which would have triggered an immediate denial by NICS, according to bureau guidelines. But that information was never seen by the reviewer because the FBI's database did not include Columbia police contacts in its list of agency contacts for Lexington County purchase reviews. The reviewer did attempt to reach the Lexington County prosecutor's office, which was handling the drug case at the time, but received no response.
"We are all sick about what happened,'' FBI Director James Comey said during a July briefing when the error was disclosed.
Morris said the Roof case continually "humanizes the process,'' which mostly churns on far outside the public spotlight.
"These are people who are making life-and-death decisions,'' Morris said, adding that analyst in the Roof case remains on the job working new cases every day. Given the information available at the time, authorities have said the examiner did everything possible to appropriately vet the purchase.
"She's a great examiner, too. I'd love to have 230 more of them.''

More Air Force drones are crashing than ever as mysterious new problems emerge

More Air Force drones are crashing than ever as mysterious new problems emerge

A record number of Air Force drones crashed in major accidents last year, documents show, straining the U.S. military’s fleet of robotic aircraft when it is in more demand than ever for counterterrorism missions in an expanding array of war zones.
Driving the increase was a mysterious surge in mishaps involving the Air Force’s newest and most advanced “hunter-killer” drone, the Reaper, which has become the Pentagon’s favored weapon for conducting surveillance and airstrikes against the Islamic State, al-Qaeda and other militant groups.
The Reaper has been bedeviled by a rash of sudden electrical failures that have caused the 21/2-ton drone to lose power and drop from the sky, according to accident-investigation documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. Investigators have traced the problem to a faulty starter-generator, but have been unable to pinpoint why it goes haywire or devise a permanent fix.
All told, 20 large Air Force drones were destroyed or sustained at least $2 million in damage in accidents last year, the worst annual toll ever, according to a Washington Post investigation. The Pentagon has shrouded the extent of the problem and kept details of most of the crashes a secret.

The aircraft losses pose another challenge for the Air Force as it struggles to provide sufficient drone coverage for counterterrorism operations in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Mali and Cameroon, among other countries.
Despite a surge in requests from field commanders, the Air Force last year had to curtail its drone combat missions by 8 percent because of an acute shortage of pilots for the remote-controlled aircraft. Things have gotten so bad that the Air Force is offering retention bonuses of up to $125,000 to its drone pilots, who have long complained of overwork.
The Air Force also has contracted out more drone missions to private companies to meet what one general called “a virtually insatiable appetite” from military commanders for airborne surveillance.

Feeding Your Tribe Now,and During A SHTF Event

One of the things that people often do not consider important is feeding your tribe, group, clan, team ,etc. as a group.
Cooking for large groups of people is not like having a backyard BBQ,or a holiday meal at your aunt Millie’s house.
There’s procedures you have to follow-just like anything else, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things.
Do things the wrong way,and everyone you just fed will be grabbing the TP and running to the nearest toilet-or to the woods for the next 24-48hours.
I spent over 20 years as a professional chef,I was the executive chef at private country clubs and first class hotels.
I also cooked for an outfitter on backcountry elk hunts, cooking for the hunters, the guides, and the rest of the staff way back in the mountains,it was usually a 2 day horseback ride to get to camp.
I spent a couple years working fishing boats out of Wanchese N.C. and working for the fish companies on the docks unloading boats and cutting fish.
I am offering a series of 3 classes on cooking for large groups of people, both under “normal” conditions, and in SHTF events with no power, and no natural gas to operate stoves and ovens.

I’ve taught cooking classes in the past-my boss at the time volunteered me to teach the class,at the request of the hotel’s general manager.
I’ m going to use the same methods I used back then, except rather than a 3 day series of classes,I’m going to condense the three days of classes into a one day class.
I will do a series of three classes, each one building on the previous class material,so the classes have to be taken in order, you have to have completed the first class to be able to take the second class an so on.
If there is interest in more advanced classes-I will offer those as well.
Here’s the description of what I will cover in the first class…
Cooking For Large Groups
Class #1-The Basics
This class will be required before taking subsequent classes.

This class will be required before taking subsequent classes.
As of now,I have 3 classes that I plan to offer, with each building on the previous class.
The classes will be one day classes that are the condensed version of 3 day course.
Students will receive quite a large amount of info via e-mail,which includes a series of videos that will be sent to each student as an e-mail attachment. There will also be some additional videos online.
*I’m not satisfied with the quality of the videos I’ve made so far, working on getting a better tripod for the camera, and better lighting for the room I’m using to make the videos. If I can not get the video quality to where I’m satisfied with it,I’ll over that material via e-mails to those taking the classes.
There will also be printed materials distributed to each student on the day of the class that will include material that we will not have the time to cover during class, but that I feel is important for people to know.
There will be a number of recipes included that are my own personal recipes from my years of running kitchens.
I will cover cooking under “normal”conditions,as well as under grid down conditions,to include how to set up a field kitchen.
There will be a “hands on” part of the class, and students will cook our lunch and dinner for the day.
The food is included in class price,as are all the online,e-mail,and printed materials, and a thermometer for each student,as cooking, holding and serving temperatures are critical to insuring a safe meal.
I will provide beverages-coffee,tea,sodas.
Class sizes will be limited to 16 people, any more than that, and the kitchen I have the use of is simply not big enough.
Cost for the class is $125.00.

I just can not make it any lower, and that is a more than fair price for the amount of material, and instruction I will provide. I’ll have 60+ hours into putting together the material for the class, not counting the videos-so this first class is getting a great deal!
A deposit on class fees must be paid no later than 2 weeks prior to class, unless you have worked out a barter deal with me.(see below)
Deposit is $75.00,the remainder is due no later than 3 days before the class,so I know how much food to buy for the class.
I am also willing to barter-I’ll accept silver bars or coins at the Kitco spot silver price day of class, muzzleloding stuff I’l accept in trade-unopened plastic bottles of Triple7 powder, either FFG or FFFG, 240 grain Hornady XTP bullets in .44 or .45 caliber,230 grain Hornady lead roundnosed bullets in .45 caliber-(I’vegot more than enough sabots),quality hunting or tactical kives, fishing gear,20”crossbow bolts,31” aluminun arrow shafts suitable for a 55-70# draw compound bow with a mild cam, NAP 125 grain broadheads.
I can’t accept barter items from everyone taking the class,so if you want to barter-contact me ASAP.
Contact me via e-mail-(gamegetterII@yahoo.com)-and we can most likely work something out.
Anyone planning on taking all 3 classes can also contact me via e-mail,and I’ll knock something off of the total cost for you.
I spent a bit over 20 years as the executive chef, running the kitchens in mostly hotels and private country clubs in Ohio, with some additional experience cooking for an outfitter on backcountry elk hunts in Montana and Colorado, and on fishing boats based out of Wanchese N.C. There may be another guy with similar experience assisting me in teaching the class-he will be there if he can, depends on what’s going on that day at the restaurant he works at.
If there is enough interest,I can offer more advanced classes after the first three.
As of now,I plan to offer the classes in order, then start over and do the same again.
Material to be covered in Class #1-The Basics
The following is a rough outline of what I will teach in Class #1

The US Government Has an Internet Killswitch — and It’s None of Your Business, by Derrick Brose

The Supreme Court has refused to hear a petition concerning the Department of Homeland Security’s secretive internet and cellphone killswitch program.
(ANTIMEDIA) United States — On Monday the Supreme Court declined to hear a petition from the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) that sought to force the Department of Homeland Security to release details of a secret “killswitch” protocol to shut down cellphone and internet service during emergencies.
EPIC has been fighting since 2011 to release the details of the program, which is known as Standard Operating Procedure 303. EPIC writes, “On March 9, 2006, the National Communications System (‘NCS’) approved SOP 303, however it was never released to the public. This secret document codifies a ‘shutdown and restoration process for use by commercial and private wireless networks during national crisis.’”
EPIC continues, “In a 2006-2007 Report, the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (‘NSTAC’) indicated that SOP 303 would be implemented under the coordination of the National Coordinating Center (‘NCC’) of the NSTAC, while the decision to shut down service would be made by state Homeland Security Advisors or individuals at DHS. The report indicates that NCC will determine if a shutdown is necessary based on a ‘series of questions.’”
Despite EPIC’s defeat at the hands of the Supreme Court, the four-year court battle yielded a heavily redacted copy of Standard Operating Procedure 303.
The fight for transparency regarding SOP 303 began shortly after a Bay Area Rapid Transit (“BART”) officer in San Francisco shot and killed a homeless man named Charles Hill on July 3, 2011. The shooting sparked massive protests against BART throughout July and August 2011. During one of these protests, BART officials cut off cell phone service inside four transit stations for three hours. This kept anyone on the station platform from sending or receiving phone calls, messages, or other data.
In July 2012, EPIC submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the DHS seeking the full text of Standard Operating Procedure 303; the full text of the predetermined “series of questions” that determines if a shutdown is necessary; and any executing protocols related to the implementation of Standard Operating Procedure 303, distributed to DHS, other federal agencies, or private companies.

Two Smoking Guns: FBI on Hillary’s Case, by Andrew P. Napolitano

From Andrew P. Napolitano at antiwar.com:
The federal criminal investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s failure to secure state secrets was ratcheted up earlier this week, and at the same time, the existence of a parallel criminal investigation of another aspect of her behavior was made known. This is the second publicly revealed expansion of the FBI’s investigations in two months.
I have argued for two months that Clinton’s legal woes are either grave or worse than grave. That argument has been based on the hard, now public evidence of her failure to safeguard national security secrets and the known manner in which the Department of Justice addresses these failures.
The failure to safeguard state secrets is an area of the law in which the federal government has been aggressive to the point of being merciless. State secrets are the product of members of the intelligence community’s risking their lives to obtain information.
Before she was entrusted with any state secrets – indeed, on her first full day as secretary of state – Clinton received instruction from FBI agents on how to safeguard them; and she signed an oath swearing to comply with the laws commanding the safekeeping of these secrets. She was warned that the failure to safeguard secrets – known as espionage – would most likely result in aggressive prosecution.

In the cases of others, those threats have been carried out. The Obama Department of Justice prosecuted a young sailor for espionage for sending a selfie to his girlfriend, because in the background of the photo was a view of a sonar screen on a submarine. It prosecuted a heroic Marine for espionage for warning his superiors of the presence of an al-Qaida operative in police garb inside an American encampment in Afghanistan, because he used a Gmail account to send the warning.
It also prosecuted Gen. David Petraeus for espionage for keeping secret and top-secret documents in an unlocked drawer in his desk inside his guarded home. It alleged that he shared those secrets with a friend who also had a security clearance, but it dropped those charges.

Conflict of Interest

Sheriff David Ward formerly worked for the Federal Bureau of Land Management and appears to have actually been a witness against the Hammond family in the ridiculous federal terrorism trial back in 2012. [More]

Request From David Codrea

Plea to All Friends of Mike Vanderboegh

Per Mike, the doctors have told him he is not long of this world. As we all know, his financial situation due to years of disability and devotion to the larger issue of self-sacrifice for freedom is terrible.  He is doing what he can to get his affairs in order, but the reality is, his wife will be left in really bad shape.  I would like to help with a funding appeal.

I looked at various "crowdfunding" sites, but there are hoops to jump through and/or  a cut they take. For now at least, in order to get the ball rolling and hopefully growing as it does, I'm asking all of Mike's friends to spread the word and to send gratitude offerings directly to him:
  • Paypal to  georgemason1776@aol.com*
  • Check, money order, cash, etc. to Mike Vanderboegh, PO Box 926, Pinson, AL 35126.**
You'll note I called it a "gratitude offering." That's proper, as this is being directed to those of you who have received value from Mike's work over the years. That gratitude should also extend to Mike's wife Rosey, who has had to make plenty of sacrifices of her own to enable Mike to do so many necessary things you and I have benefited from.

Update on the Feeding Your Tribe/Cooking Class Post

Thanks to reader Doug O. for spotting my mistake!

I posted the wrong date for the class, right day-wrong date.
The class will be held on SATURDAY,March 12th.
I had posted Saturday,March 15th,March 15th is a Tuesday.
My fault,I was looking at my calendar, and my job schedule,I have a job scheduled to start on March 15th,and for whatever reason,I mixed the days and dates up.
I double checked, and sat March 12th is the day I reserved the kitchen and classroom for the class.
The mistake is mine, totally my fault.
I apologize for the confusion,
Larry

There may be another guy with similar experience assisiting me in teaching the class-he will be there if he can, depends on what’s going on that day at the restaurant he works at.
If there is enough interest,I can offer more advanced classes after the first three.
As of now,I plan to offer the classes in order, then start over and do the same again.
